Kolkata: Qualified candidates of 2014 Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) staged a protest on Monday in Salt Lake area of the state capital demanding their placements.
Showing agitation against the delay in placing these candidates, the protestors have raised demands that their recruitment should be done before that of the 2017 batch.
Another reason that drove TET candidates to protest is that the state had declared a higher number of vacancies earlier which was later reduced. Hence, the candidates are asking to recruit everyone this time, without interview.
It is worth noting that interviews have already done and still these candidates have not been placed.

During the protest, a scuffle also broke out between several protestors and the police trying to disperse the crowd as they were trying to carry out a march. All the protestors had gathered at Primary Board office at Karunamoyee where the protest took place late night.
As per local media reports, the protest is still on for the second day in Kolkata raising serious issue of placement.
