‘Indian spies have gained control of…’: After Shahid Afridi, Waqar Younis breaks silence on Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2 effect in Pakistan, here’s the truth behind viral claim

After Shahid Afridi, famous cricketer Waqar Younis also criticized and spoke about Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar effect in Pakistan.

Talking about the movie Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, a blockbuster directed by Aditya Dhar with Ranveer Singh as lead actor, was released on 19th March, 2026. The movie has been a massive success at the box office, earning a lot of money. However, audiences are divided, with people sharing many different and conflicting opinions about it.

Many viewers and reviewers believe this is among Ranveer Singh’s finest performances, and they have praised the film’s impressive visual effects. At the same time, it has drawn criticism for its long runtime of nearly four hours, graphic violent scenes and sensitive political subject matter.

Recently Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi has criticized the movie and now after him another Pakistan cricketer joined him criticizing the movie, his name is Waqar Younis. Yes, you guys heard it right, the famous cricketer Waqar Younis also criticized the film. Waqar Younis said about Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar effect in Pakistan.

Here’s what he said

“With the kind of hostilities between two countries, I’d be surprised if we are not having Indian spies in our midst. In fact, the way Pakistan cricket has gone downhill in the last few years, I am beginning to suspect Indian spies have gained control of the PCB.”

Why was Waqar Younis trending during the T20 World Cup 2026?

Waqar Younis is tired of seeing India beat Pakistan so often in cricket. A long time ago, Pakistan used to win most of their matches against India. However, over the last 15 years, India has improved a lot and now dominates the rivalry.

Waqar Younis did not like being reminded about how much India has been winning while he was commentating on the game. Just before Hardik Pandya dismissed Usman Tariq to end the match, fellow commentator Pommie Mbangwa pointed out a big statistic. He noted that this was the 11th time in a row that India had defeated Pakistan.

“The domination of this fixture by India would undoubtedly be annoying for Pakistan. 11th consecutive win in Men’s ICC T20 World Cups,” Mbangwa said in the commentary box, to which a visibly pained Waqar reacted, “Alright! Enough. Leave it there. We’ve had enough of that. India have been too good in the last 15-20 years, I would say.”

“Pakistan lost the game in the first innings. Once India reached 175, the game was out of Pakistan’s reach. The ball was spinning, and Suryakumar Yadav was smart with his bowling changes,” Younis said.

What did Shahid Afridi say earlier?

Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi said about Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar effect in Pakistan, he said, “After the Durandar movie, no one can be trusted in Pakistan anymore. Whoever I talk to, I speak very carefully, because it feels like they might be an Indian agent. And it seems our government should interrogate everyone one by one from roadside beggars to everyone else to find out whether they are Indian agents or not.”
