Following the release of Dhurandhar 2, which starred Ranveer Singh, a few Pakistani videos have gone viral. The movie, which shows an Indian agent infiltrating criminal groups and terror networks in Pakistan’s underbelly of Lyari, has undoubtedly touched a nerve.
‘Indian agent’ in Lyari triggers panic across Pakistan? Here’s the truth
The film was released on March 19, 2026. Shortly after, several videos surfaced on the internet, saying that Pakistani officials had abruptly increased their random street checks in an attempt to locate an Indian spy.
In Lyari, Karachi, police and residents are currently combing every street for Indian spies. Among all the videos, one in particular has been making the rounds on social media.
It depicts police officers inspecting beside the road and halting drivers. At one point in the film, police awaken an old man who was dozing off by the side of the road, remove his blanket, and ask him about his identification and whereabouts before releasing him.
Take a look at the viral video:
After verifying multiple sites, it shows that the statements circulating on the internet are false. Grok claims that the viral video is outdated and unrelated to Dhurandhar 2. It was first shared by an Instagram user and is thought to depict an earlier Karachi Police operation, most likely in the Lyari area.
What is the truth behind the video?
Similar footage dates back to the middle of 2025 and shows local police activity and ordinary checks rather than any targeted searches connected to the movie or purported spy concerns.
The video still generates a lot of memes and jokes online despite these explanations. Humorous comments have filled social media comment sections, with some speculating that everyone in the video, from onlookers to police officers, might be a spy.
