Commuters today will get to travel in the Delhi Metro as the services will run till late night on February 12, 2026. This extension has been given because of the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in India, where one of today’s matches is happening in Delhi’ Arun Jaitley Stadium. The Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) confirmed in a social media post on X (formerly known as Twitter)
The department said it is “extending train services late into the night” as part of special arrangements for the match day crowd, aiming to ease post-game rush and provide a safer, smoother commute for fans leaving the stadium area.
Home Team on winning streak
This announcement followed the preparations going under for the India vs Namibia match in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which will start at 7 PM, and will finish almost at midnight. The extension took place as the home team will feature in today’s match and thousands will come to see the match, and the commuters will be heavily dependent on the metro to the stadium and all the nearby venues of the stadium. People coming to or from the stadium have been advised to use the stations on Violet line with Delhi Gate and ITO and other being close to the metro options to reach the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
