6 injured as tobacco businessman’s son loses control of Lamborghini in Kanpur

A Lamborghini mounted a footpath in Kanpur after the driver reportedly suffered a seizure, injuring a pedestrian. Police have seized the car and begun a probe.

A high-end Lamborghini veered off the road and onto a footpath in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur after its driver reportedly suffered a sudden seizure, injuring a pedestrian and triggering questions about road safety and medical fitness behind the wheel.

The incident occurred near the Gwal Toli area on an express road, where the luxury car was being driven by Shivam, son of tobacco trader A K Mishra.

Sudden Medical Episode Behind the Wheel

According to police, the driver experienced dizziness followed by a seizure while driving. In an attempt to avoid a larger crash, he steered the vehicle away from the main carriageway and onto the footpath.

Despite the loss of control, the car was eventually brought to a stop on the roadside. However, the diversion resulted in injuries to a pedestrian and damage to another vehicle.

Pedestrian Injured, Autorickshaw Damaged

During the incident, Taufiq Ahmed, who was standing on the footpath, was hit and sustained injuries. The Lamborghini also collided with an autorickshaw before coming to a halt.

Local residents said the situation could have turned far more dangerous. “Considering the kind of vehicle it was, many lives could have been at risk if it hadn’t been controlled in time,” a resident remarked.

Ahmed is currently undergoing treatment, and his condition is reported to be stable.

Police Take Vehicle Into Custody

Soon after the crash, a crowd gathered at the scene, many drawn by the presence of the luxury car. Police from the Gwal Toli station reached the spot and took the Lamborghini into custody. The injured man was shifted to a hospital for treatment.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Atul Srivastava confirmed that no written complaint had been filed so far.

“The vehicle has been seized and kept at the police station. Action will be taken based on any application received,” he said. He added that authorities are also verifying the driver’s claim of suffering from seizures.

Presence of Bouncers Draws Local Criticism

Shortly after the incident, several bouncers reportedly associated with the trader arrived at the scene. Some locals alleged that their primary focus appeared to be securing and covering the vehicle rather than assisting the injured pedestrian, a claim that has drawn criticism in the area.

Victim Recounts the Moment

Speaking about the incident, Taufiq Ahmed said he was standing on the footpath when the car suddenly came toward him. He is currently receiving medical care and remains in stable condition.
