Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to make history once again by presenting her ninth consecutive Union Budget on February 1, 2026. Scheduled for 11 am at Parliament, this Budget will also be the first ever to be presented on a Sunday. Following tradition, it will then be discussed in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Nirmala Sitharaman became India’s first full-time woman Finance Minister in July 2019 and presented her first Budget the same year. Since then, she has delivered seven full Budgets along with an interim Budget in February 2024, steadily extending her record.

The record for the most Budgets presented by an individual is held by Morarji Desai, who delivered 10 Budgets, including two interim ones, between 1959 and 1969.
