Instead, he prides himself on being calculated. “I’m the slyest with it,” he said, suggesting that his verbal shots often land before the other person even realizes what’s happened. “When you’ve done what I’ve done, you’ve built that equity,” Reigns said. “Nobody gave it to me. I had to take it.”
That statement cuts to the core of his journey. Despite being positioned early as WWE’s next big thing, Reigns pushed back against the idea that his rise was easy or handed to him. Walking into a locker room that included legends like John Cena, Randy Orton, Big Show, and Kane wasn’t a smooth transition. Respect wasn’t automatic, it had to be fought for.
