Bengaluru: A shocking incident has come to light in Bengaluru, where a woman was allegedly assaulted by a man who was repeatedly forcing her to enter into a relationship. The disturbing event captured on CCTV took place in broad daylight on December 22, around 3.20 pm.
The video shows the 21-year-old woman standing beside a scooty, purportedly an online ride, when the accused man arrives in a car at the spot. He is seen snatching and checking her purse before beginning to assault her.
Accused hits woman on the head and back
In the footage, the accused, identified as Naveen Kumar, hits the woman repeatedly on her head and back. He then gropes and drags her along the street. The horrific assault has sent shockwaves across the city. Two to three bystanders stood and watched the incident unfold, but did not intervene or help the victim.

Naveen and the woman became friends on Instagram
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the accused man and the girl became friends on Instagram in 2024. They remained in regular touch over phone calls and messages. Some time later, Naveen allegedly began pressuring her to enter into a relationship with him, but she rejected.
Accused assaults the victim outside her PG
On December 22, Naveen went to the woman’s paying guest (PG) accommodation in his car, confronting and assaulting her in public view, reports added. A case has been registered against the accused, and he has been arrested. An investigation has also been launched into the case.
